Google Voice: Aussichtsreicher Telefonservice von Google

Auf 9to5mac veröffentlicht, zeigt der Clip die vorankündigung der nativen iPhone-Applikation Google Voice. Bislang noch nicht veröffentlicht, und nach dem AppStore-Launch wohl nur in den USA verfügbar, vereint Google Voice VoIP-Dienste, bietet eine lebenslange Rufnummer, SMS-Management und mehr. Die Wiki beschreibt den GrandCentral-Nachfolger wie folgt:

„GrandCentral was relaunched as Google Voice on March 11, 2009 with new features, including voicemail transcriptions and SMS managing; current GrandCentral customers will be able to transfer their accounts to Google Voice, and the service will start accepting new members in a few weeks. […] Currently, the Google Voice service is only available to former GrandCentral customers, a group that only included people who had been invited to the service before invitations were terminated in March 2008.“
