Google Voice-Ablehnung: Die FCC befragt Apple, Google und AT&T

Die Geschichte um Google Voice schein noch ein Nachspiel zu haben. Keine Woche nachdem Apple (wohl auf Druck des Mobilfunk-Providers AT&T) die bereits im AppStore vorhandenen Google Voice Applikationen entfernte, startet die amerikanische Zulassungsbehörde für Kommunikationsgeräte, die FCC, nun eine Anhörung zum Thema. So berichtet das Wall Street Journal (kostenpflichtiger Artikel) nun über ein von der FCC verfasstes Schreiben, das sowohl an Apple als auch an AT&T und Google adressiert wurde.

The FCC asked why Apple rejected the Google Voice application for the iPhone and removed related applications from its App Store. The letter also seeks information on how AT&T, the exclusive U.S. iPhone carrier, was consulted in the decision, if at all.

Den Brief, der unter anderem den Zulassungsprozess des AppStores anspricht und Apple nach allgemeingütigen Richtlinien für die Annahme bzw.
