3 hours later it caught fire: Schmelzende Dock-Connector Kabel

Mitte November hatten wir das fast verbrannte iPhone-Netzteil in den News. Die jetzt bei Tim Colbourne veröffentlichte Geschichte, sieht jedoch fast noch einen Zacken schlimmer aus. Das von Tim bei Twitpic hochgeladene Bild zeigt ein halb geschmolzenes Ladekabel, Tim selbst bloggt die folgenden Infos zum Vorgang:

„Yesterday I connected my iPhone 3G to my computer’s USB port and left it to charge. Three hours later it caught fire. Here’s a picture of the aftermath. […] The fire started in the space between the lead and the phone, and resulted in a couple of pins fusing together. Although the main functions of the phone are apparently unaffected, the device won’t connect to the PC which means I can neither charge it nor transfer data. Result: one dead iPhone.“

Seine Recherche durchs Netz hat zudem diesen schwedischen Fall vom August 2008 zu Tage gefördert. Gleiches Kabel, gleiches Problem. Keine Reaktion von Apple. Danke Boris.
